Frequently asked CuraSupport Compression Bra questions
CuraSupport Compression Bras are designed to stabilise breast tissue and support the healing process after breast surgery, including mastectomy, lumpectomy, reconstruction, augmentation or reduction. The gentle compression also creates good conditions for scar treatment.
This depends on your procedure and how your recovery is progressing, so please follow the guidance given by your surgeon or breast care nurse. Compression garments are typically introduced in the earlier stages of recovery, once your surgical team confirms it is appropriate for your situation.
Compression bras provide firmer support to stabilise tissue and support healing, which is typically suited to earlier stages of recovery. Comfort bras offer a gentler, non-restrictive fit designed for everyday wear as healing progresses. Your surgeon or breast care nurse can advise which is right for your stage of recovery.
CuraSupport Compression Bras use soft, skin-friendly fabrics and flat seams to reduce irritation around sensitive scar tissue, along with an anatomical shape designed to hold everything securely in place during the healing process.
Most customers can purchase a CuraSupport Compression Bra without a prescription, but we recommend speaking with your surgeon or breast care nurse first to make sure the fit and level of support is right for your stage of recovery.
Yes. Silicone scar patches, such as Amoena's CuraScar Silicones, are designed to be worn directly on the skin underneath a compression bra. The gentle pressure from the bra can help the patch stay in place against the scar, supporting the scar treatment process as you heal.
Mastectomy products purchased for your own personal use following breast surgery are VAT exempt for UK customers under HMRC rules. Simply confirm your eligibility in the checkout declaration, and VAT will be removed automatically. See the VAT exemption details below for more on how this works and who qualifies.
