Bra Care
Here are some handy tips for looking after bras
Looking after your bras
Here are some helpful hints to look after your bras and keep them in great condition.
The importance of proper care
Bras are designed to support our breast tissue, breast form or shaper. They play a key role when it comes to keeping the body balanced and supported. So how can we make the most of them.
Good storage habits
How we store our bras can impact on how well they retain their shape.
Make sure your drawer, shelf or container has no sharp edges or rough surfaces that may pull on the fabric.
Storing padded bras
Best to hang them on a coat hanger, or nest them in a drawer, with other padded styles. Avoid folding the bra in half and pushing the padded cup out to the opposite side. This will keep the padding in it's optimal shape.
Soft cup and underwired bras can be folded.

Washing:
Being in close contact with our skin, bras can absorb moisture, sweat, oils and skin cells from our body.
Wash your bra every 2-3 wears, or after sweaty days.
If machine washing, use the delicates cycle and try to use a delicates bag for the bra. You can also hand wash.
Do not tumble dry.
When hanging on the line, place the centre front of the bra over the line (between the two cups). Avoid hanging from the back of the band.
Regular inspections
From time to time inspect your bra for any signs of damage like tears, underwires coming out of their casing etc.
Elasticated fabric will break down over time and lose stretch. A bra is typically designed to last 6 months of continuous wear. eg: if you bought 3 bras and rotated them daily, they'd be ready to replace in 18 months.
If your body or breasts fluctuate in size, make sure you check the fit of your bra, to ensure you still get the right support.
By sticking to these simple cleaning and maintenance practices, you can keep your breast form and shaper looking and feeling good for even longer.
