Pink October - raising awareness for breast cancer worldwide

The "special edition" from Amoena

As a leading provider of medical devices for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery, Amoena has been setting standards in care for many years. In addition to post-operative recovery care products and the world's largest selection of breast prostheses, special prosthetic bras and swimwear form another important pillar in the Amoena product world. But breast cancer awareness is also a major concern at Amoena - this is where "Pink October" plays a major role.

October is known worldwide as the month in which the issue of breast cancer is brought into focus. The "pink ribbon" is now a worldwide symbol in breast cancer awareness. The aim is to raise awareness and educate - because with hardly any other cancer is early detection so important for the chances of cure. The disease primarily affects women, but those around them are always affected as well. Almost all of us know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. And for those affected: especially when people are confronted with deep cuts in their familiar life situation, it is often very important to keep looking at the beautiful sides of life - this is also what this worldwide campaign stands for.

Amoena's annual Pink October campaign always wants to offer women with breast cancer something special to support them on their way through the disease back to a normal life.

This year, Amoena has released the Adapt Air breast prosthesis in a special edition, available with hearts printed on the back. Otherwise, the premium product offers the familiar benefits: precise and individually adjustable thanks to the integrated air chamber technology. Even with weight fluctuations or swelling due to lymphedema, this prosthesis always offers the perfect fit and a particularly close fit to the body.  The simple fine adjustment of the volume also gives the woman more flexibility in her choice of bra.

In addition, the popular Mara cup bra in the color "burgundy/ multi" was also designed with an appealing heart all-over print. The Valletta Top, a popular product from the Wellness category, will additionally be offered in the color "red" in October to match the Mara cup bra. With both products, as with all Amoena Breast Care textiles, emphasis was placed on the highest quality workmanship and the particularly successful design is intended to give women pleasure when wearing the textiles.

The Amoena Pink October 2022 campaign was launched worldwide in mid-August with an initial newsletter, where women affected were invited to share their helpful experiences and tips on their journey through the condition with other women. These submissions were compiled into a collage, which can now be found on the Amoena homepage as an aid for all those interested and affected. As a small thank you "for participating" Mara cup bras and Valletta tops were raffled.

Small give-aways (pins, bracelets) for women all over the world are sold for a small amount or distributed free of charge - not only to give pleasure, but also to strengthen the feeling of togetherness among all those affected and their relatives. A portion of the proceeds goes to benefit organizations that fight breast cancer. The "Pink October Pin" can be worn on the lapel or simply on the jeans, and the bracelet with the silver heart completes the campaign. More than 40,000 heart-shaped balloons and matching decorations will be placed in stores.
