Tennis Queen or Workout Ninja – which sporting type are you?

There are plenty of ways to work up a sweat and in fall especially, the cooler weather will tempt you outdoors to get some exercise – let's be honest, sometimes just the thought of next year’s bathing suit season is enough.

But how can you find the right kind of sport for you among a sea of options? Some types of sport offer fun, fun and more fun; others get incredible results for abs, legs and glutes. Am I a lone wolf or a team player? Am I ready to invest in what might be expensive equipment, or do I find “all-round sport” better? Whichever you go for, there’s one thing you shouldn’t forget: the right outfit. The saying “there are no bad conditions, only bad clothing” really proves its worth here; anyone who has gone jogging in a sloppy cotton t-shirt (“oh, that’ll do”) will know what we mean.

And even if we don’t like to admit it, there’s a princess hiding in all of us: there’s no shame in looking smart, even if you blush when you give a twirl!

Nordic Walking: A relatively new sport and often decried as a variation on walking, but let’s be honest: anyone who has tried it knows afterwards that they’ve been working out! The training results are also particularly good for the upper body: beautiful, sculpted arms – we like!

Our tip: The  Valletta Top has been making Amoena customers smile for a number of years. Simple but perfectly fitting basics are often difficult to find, and once you find and try out a favourite piece, it is decidedly worthwhile buying it in every available colour. The Valletta Top is available in 5 different colours with a built-in shelf bra and double spaghetti straps. Our verdict: Essential.

Yoga: Our clear favourite at Amoena: gentle exercises, deep relaxation and yet fitness results you can see. There are countless courses available now, and even gyms offer yoga courses for beginners and advanced users. A special plus is that it boosts body awareness and physical and mental health.

Our tip: The Jacket by Amoena in classic black is very comfortable to wear and fits perektly for smooth yoga moves. The material is softer than cashmere. That is feel-good clothing pure and offers just the right mixture of support and comfort. A casual tie-front means you can choose your look. The seams are gently flared and the shirt lies close to the body without constricting – clothes you can’t help feeling good in!

Workout: Whether doing aerobics, a power workout or a step course – the gym is a little microcosm of its own. Without wishing to exaggerate, a smart outfit is almost obligatory here – and if it happens to offer better comfort and support, then you’ve killed two birds with one stone!

Our tip: The Racer Top by Amoena in stylish blue/grey or classic black/whrite is our fashion favourite for fall! The top is cut close to the figure, fits perfectly and boasts all of Amoena's well-known features: built-in bra, fast dry material. Whether you manage the 20th sit-up or not, you will always look supremely sporty in this top!

Walking: Get out into the countryside and off you go: Germany and Austria have some of the nicest walking country in Europe – so get outdoors and have fun! You always feel good in the open air, with the perfumes of nature sighing about your ears, and, after the climb, as you tuck into a snack at the summit and enjoy the panoramic view, the world really is your oyster…

Our tip: The Short Sleve Top is a cool 2-in-1; the bra’s built right in so it’s easy to wear when you’re ready to go. A cute drawstring at the hemline keeps you looking put-together, and cottony-soft Supplex fabric is shrink and fade resistant.

Cycling: Whether you’re a fitness rookie or a toned marathon runner, cycling is the ideal sport for every level of fitness. The variety of the sport has also found favour: you can tour with a racer, cross wood and stream with a mountain bike or go extreme biking with a cross bike. As 70% of your weight is on the saddle, cycling is extremely easy on the joints and choosing the length and inclination of the route is a good way to suit the training to any fitness level.

Our tip: When you’re cycling, you can’t worry about your clothes – eyes on the road! The  Racer Top and shorts make a perfect, worry-free combo. Pretty in blue/grey or black/white, this set is sleek for aerodynamics and yet still roomy enough to be comfortable. Soft supplex fabric dries faster than cotton and is shrink and fade-resistant. The shorts have a little secret pocket in the inside, for lip balm or your house keys -- and the top, of course, has secret bilateral pockets like all Amoena active wear.

Tennis: Steffi Graf, Serena Williams, Anna Kournikova – they have been our virtual teachers on grass and clay for ages and have shown us just what a fascination the sport with the little yellow ball can exert. With the summer tourney season on TV to inspire you, why not get out and ace (or chase) a few yourself!

Our tip: The quick reactions needed for tennis require well-fitting sports clothing. The Jennifer sports bra by Amoena provides firm hold and ideal support function. The straps at the back have a practical adjustment feature and net panels give the bra a super sporty look, leaving your way clear to game, set and match!
