A Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF or CFm) is professionally trained to fit bras and breast prostheses. They provide an important service for the women who wear breast forms, who should have their fit evaluated at least once a year. The fitter's clinical experience, combined with her completion of an approved pre-certification education program, allows her to apply for certification through nationally recognized boards such as:

ABCOP (American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics) - www.abcop.org
BOC (Board for Orthotists/Prosthetists Certification) - www.bocusa.org

If you are interested in becoming a fit specialist, we currently offer Introductory Fit Specialist courses both in-person and virtually, in the spring and fall. The Introductory Course is a pre-certification course that instructs you on how to match product with surgery type, gives you practical hands-on fitting experience, and helps you master key fitting techniques. The course prepares you for the BOC and ABCOP certification exams.

*The Amoena Fit Specialist Advanced Course is a continuing class for those experienced fitters looking to gain more knowledge and CEs. Students will build upon the Introductory Fit Course curriculum through an interactive presentation, interviews with surgeons and other breast cancer care professionals, fitting observation, and hands-on practice.

Fit seminar dates and locations are subject to change. We make every effort to update the list as soon as a change occurs.
