1. Our data protection principles
Amoena Medizin-Orthopädie-Technik GmbH, Kapellenweg 36, 83064 Raubling is responsible for the German area of the website www.amoena.com.
The protection of personal data is given a high priority in our company. This is why we run our business in compliance with the laws for the protection of personal data and for data security. What follows will show you what data we collect, how we process and use it and to whom we communicate it if need be.

2. Collecting, processing and using personal data
2.1 If you visit our website ( www.amoena.com), in principle we collect only anonymous data, such as the web page from which you are visiting us, your Internet Service Provider and the pages that you called up from us. Amoena uses this information exclusively for statistical purposes, in order to improve its products, service and this website.

2.2 We do not use our web page to record any personal data other than such data as you provide voluntarily. This is the case:
a)    with contact recording via our contact form. The following data is collected at this point:

  • Mandatory details: Address, first name and surname, email address and country
  • Optional: Title and telephone number.

b)    for the Club Amoena registration. The following data is collected at this point:
Mandatory details: Address, first name and surname, email address
Optional: Title, address, country, brassiere and slip size, as well as details of whether the customer has
 had a breast operation.

c)    for ordering the Amoena Newsletters. The following data is collected at this point:

  • Mandatory details: Address, first name and surname, email address
  • Optional: Title, country

Data capture and storage for the purpose of sending the newsletter can be revoked at any time with future effect. To do this, click on the "Unsubscribe" link which is included in every newsletter.
Our partner company, emarsys.net handles the technical aspects of sending out the newsletter. The abovementioned data, which you give when applying for the newsletter, is notified to emarsys.

d)    for the application for Amoena training. The following data is collected at this point:

  • Description of the training, date, candidate's first name and surname, company, candidate's email address, applicant's name, level of knowledge (entry level, returning student, refresher course)

Alternatively, we will record your data only if you have consented to this in advance or the relevant legal regulations governing the protection of your data allow this.

2.3 Usage data, such as the Internet Protocol address or details of the start and duration of use, can sometimes be generated automatically, depending on the technical means used and are therefore essential for communication. We will delete or render anonymous data that is no longer needed for a message transfer.

3. Determination of purpose
All personal data generated in connection with our online services will be collected, processed and used in accordance with the relevant regulations for the protection of personal data only for the purpose of recording contact and to guarantee business interests to which we are entitled for advising and looking after our customers and for designing products that meet requirements.

To maintain customer relations, deal with their queries and for technical reasons, it can be necessary to appoint third parties to process your data. Crucial data protection regulations will also be observed in this case.

Only if you have explicitly agreed to it will we use your personal data for direct marketing or market research purposes.

We will neither sell your personal data to a third party nor use it for other similar marketing purposes.

4. Legitimate use
Amoena will only collect, process and use your personal data, which you have provided to us online, for the purposes that you have notified, unless it is collected, processed or used

  • for a purpose which is connected directly with the original purpose,
  • is needed to prepare, negotiate and conclude a contract with you,
  • is needed because of a legal regulation or an official or court-ordered arrangement,
  • is needed for legal protection purposes or to defend petitions,
  • is used to prevent misuse or other illegal actions that endanger the integrity of Amoena's systems and therefore data security.

5. Use of cookies
To simplify the preparation of our web page - thus web pages - and to optimise marketing - we permit the use of cookies. In this way, Amoena automatically tracks how the content provided is used. This enables us to recognise more quickly those areas that can be improved and we can continuously improve the relevance and accessibility of the content we provide.

However, you have the option to refuse saving of a cookie by setting your Internet browser so that it deletes cookies from your hard disk, blocks all cookies or warns you before a cookie is saved. If you decide to refuse cookies, you still have exactly the same access to Amoena content as if cookies were enabled. This disabling merely leads to somewhat less precise usage patterns for our internal reports. This usage information will be used only in house by Amoena and our relevant partners to improve the quality of the content, services and support for our visitors.

6. Web analysis
Analytical purposes:  We use Google Analytics to help us to understand how you make use of our content and work out how we can make things better. These cookies follow your progress through our website, collecting anonymous data on where you have come from, which pages you visit, and how long you spend on the site. This data is then stored by Google in order to create reports. These cookies do not store your personal data.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, including your anonymous IP address, may be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google may use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for us and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

7. Social Media
The Amoena website currently uses social plug-ins by Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA), Google+1 (Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) and Twitter (Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Via these, personal data can be communicated to the named service providers. Amoena itself does not collect any personal data via the quoted plug-ins.
Amoena is not aware in detail of which data is collected via these plug-ins; neither does it have the opportunity to influence this data collection in any form. Information about this can be found in the social plug-in provider's data protection notes:

In principle, these rules apply to all social plug-in providers: Data collection by these providers via the Amoena website can be avoided by ensuring that you do not log in to them there.

 8. Data security
Amoena ensures, by means of technical and organisational precautions, that your personal data is protected against accidental or illicit deletion, change or against loss and unauthorised distribution or unauthorised access.

9. Links
Amoena is not responsible for data protection of other websites or their content to which [data] is forwarded by link.

10. Your rights as an Internet user
Amoena will accede to your searches for information, authorisation and deletion wishes and other rights to which you are entitled willingly as required by law.

You may revoke permission for our company to use your data for promotion, market research or opinion poll purposes at any time.

We will also continuously adapt our data protection principles by further Internet development. We will notify changes on this page in good time. You should therefore call it up regularly to keep up to date with the latest version of the data protection notes.
