Music influences health

Sing goodbye to your winter depression!

Music attends us our whole life, from our lullabies, kindergarten group singing, the pop song we fell in love with in adolescence and, later, maybe, a classical or jazz CD.

Some people play their own instrument, others love to go dancing or motivate themselves through headphones for their weekly jogging round. Music is everywhere!

We have 5 tips for you to use music for being healthier, happier and more relaxed.

1 Tip: Sing regularly!

Never mind if you do this in the shower, while driving the car or in a choir. Singing regularly improves your cardiovascular system fitness and boosts your immune system.

2 Tip: Play an instrument!

If you already play an instrument, great! If not… it’s never too late to start! This is something that everybody can learn -- trust the scientists! Delve into the world of you own music on a regular basis. Practicing an instrument is like yoga for your thoughts. You will be immersed in something lovely, and will automatically forget your everyday troubles for a while.

3. Tip: Listen actively!

You don’t have to sing or play – just listen mindfully. When you’re actively aware, listening to your favorite song also brings relaxation and relieves stress perfectly.

4 Tip: Sing to prevent a bad mood during these dark and cold days!

The brain releases signals while you listen to your favorite song which make you feel happy. So don’t be shy – go ahead and sing with your current fave on the radio. To be honest, what is worse: having a really bad mood all day long or the brief irritated glance of your colleague?

5. Tip Get your headset ready right now to prevent or reverse any negativity (or bacteria!), and enjoy our top 3 songs:

Please note: As you know, it’s easy to argue about taste so you might go to our Facebook page and post us your favorite song! We are curious!
