The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has set the deadline of September 30, 2009 for the entire orthotics, prosthetics, and perdorthics industry, as well as post-mastectomy providers to meet accredication requirements. Existing DMEPOS suppliers enrolled in the Medicare program (prior to January 1, 2008) are required to obtain and submit an approved accreditation to the NSC.
