There is no ideal degree or background for someone wanting to become a CMF. The majority of CMFs are women. Some CMFs are breast cancer survivors and prosthesis wearers as well. CMFs share a common goal in helping women receive the best look and fit from their postmastectomy bras and prostheses.

Amoena® Fitter Seminars have been approved by ABC as an official entry-level education program for the Registered Fitter - Mastectomy certification (RFM) and BOC as an official entry-level education program that will qualify one to sit for the BOC Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) examination. Fitters who currently hold certification through ABC will earn 7.5 PCEs and those certified by BOC will earn 7 CPEs for attending.

Amoena® postmastectomy fitter training increases your confidence, credentials, credibility. You will learn how to match product with surgery type, gain practical hands-on fitting experience, and master key fitting techniques that inspire the customer's confidence. The fitter seminars provide training in basic anatomy and prepare the attendee to recognize different types of mastectomy surgeries. Attendees learn which Amoena® product compliments each surgery type, how to fit bras correctly and how to recognize a poor fit. The importance of a correctly fitted bra and prosthesis will be explained. The participants will be able to practice on live models and demonstrate their own fitting ability prior to receiving a certificate of course completion. Current training also includes instruction for Amoena® attachable forms. The end result? Amoena® postmastectomy fitter training increases confidence, credentials and credibility.
