Announcing the launch of Amoena Energy - Taking breast form comfort to a new level
Amoena’s newest breast form, Energy, combines the company’s patented Comfort+ temperature-equalising technology and its latest airflow innovation to deliver the next generation of comfort in breast forms, with antibacterial silver ensuring optimum freshness.
Amoena has established itself as the global leader in post-mastectomy products over the past 35 years, with a commitment to harnessing technology to offer women a better quality of life following breast surgery. Fuelled by industry-leading research and technological innovation, Amoena is dedicated to delivering the very latest in breast forms to meet women’s ever-changing needs.
Among the innovations behind Energy, Amoena’s design engineers have incorporated 30 per cent more of the company’s patented Comfort+ technology into each form. Comfort+ helps to equalise a woman’s body temperature by absorbing excess body heat from the chest wall during a rise in body temperature to reduce overheating, subsequently warming the body with stored heat when body temperature drops. The result is reduced build-up of perspiration behind the form, which helps keep the wearer drier and more comfortable and is ideal during periods of fluctuating body temperature – whether this is due to workouts, hot flushes or just the demands of everyday life.
Amoena has also added a patent-pending three-dimensional raised pearl surface to the Energy form, which creates small gaps between the breast form and the chest wall, allowing air flow for moisture evaporation where women most need it. The result of months of laboratory and wearer tests, the 3-D silicone pearls are strategically designed in varying heights and sizes to optimise the flow of air behind the form. The result is the best temperature-management system in breast form design to date. Finally, the addition of antibacterial silver-infused film to the back of the breast form reduces bacteria build-up by 99.9 per cent, for day-long freshness.
“Thousands of women wear breast forms with Comfort+ and are benefitting from the proven temperature-equalising technology,” said Christa Kuhn, breast form product manager for Amoena. “For our Energy breast form, we wanted to increase the temperature equalising effects of Comfort+ and to further enhance the wearer’s experience. The combination of Comfort+ and the patent-pending three-dimensional raised pearl surface to create an entirely new innovation. We then created two new shapes to offer more fitting options.”
Energy is exclusive to Amoena and is available in two universal shapes – the 3U offering a full shape, which is available now, and Energy 2U, an average fullness option, available in September 2010. Both styles are naturally soft, filled with lightweight silicone and feature the additional layer of Comfort+ , the three-dimensional raised pearl surface and antibacterial silver film.
