Anne took up art classes in her mid-40s after her mastectomy in 2005.  That year, Herceptin was very much in the news, and Anne used some of the clippings in a striking self-portrait, Newsprint, which powerfully reflects the way she was feeling at the time.  Anne, who went on to study for an art degree, found that art helped her express her feelings about breast cancer in a way that talking never could.
